Adult Learning
Hadi Montessori has a holistic approach to raising children. While our teaching staff has expertise in early childhood and elementary education and childrearing, you are the expert of your child. We see ourselves as team members with a common goal: to nurture and assist the child in their unconscious and conscious process of self-construction. Studies have also shown that children do best and experience a greater sense of belonging when the home and school environments are aligned. Therefore, parents are encouraged to strengthen their knowledge of the Montessori method and Islamic child-rearing practices by attending our biannual parent education nights and monthly interactive parenting sessions with Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani. Parents also receive education through avenues such as newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences.
Our staff actively engage in ongoing professional development to ensure they are:
Using accurate approaches to child-rearing and education rooted in the teachings of our Prophet (s) and Ahlul Bayt (a);
Implementing methods that are responsive to the fitri needs of the child.
This is achieved through weekly lectures and discussions with staff led by our resident scholar, Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani; specialized workshops with the Michigan Montessori Society; and online training modules offered by Trillium Montessori and Rumi Montessori. Many of our educators hold or are in the process of earning credentials from esteemed institutions such as Seton Montessori, the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies, the Center for Guided Montessori Studies, and the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center.
